LUNCHING ON A BUDGET

It’s very apparent that many of us love to lunch... a lot. But without a delightful figure in the bank account lunching may not be an everyday thing (sigh)! Here are some tips on lunching that won't break ones bank account, and maybe allow for some shopping afterwards!

Places that have share or tapas food are always a great way of getting amazing food at a lower cost! Deca Bodega in Fremantle offer 2 $50 set menus designed for two people! One is a seafood option including paella and the other a mix of other yummy Spanish nibbles! Their ridiculously affordable wine list (including an absolutely delicious sangria and other Spanish wines) is also a way of sticking to the budget! The food is flavoursome and filling!

Another great place in the area is the famous Gypsy Tapas! With each item of tapas on the menu being $9 you can’t really go wrong, especially if you go there with a group of people! They are only open Wednesday for dinner, and Thursday through Saturday from 11 am till late, so be sure to get in on one of those days!

BYO is a fabulous acronym for those of us on a budget as well! Saving money by bringing your own alcohol always assists with keeping the lunch bill down! University Asian in Nedlands is one of our old time favourites for both lunch and dinner! You can BYO and eat delicious fresh Asian food! Run Amuk Hot Dogs in South Fremantle is another option with cheap tasty food and also allows you to BYO. A few others are Aisuru Sushi in Northbridge, Sayers in Leederville, and for that delicious bowl of pasta to accompany your brought from home vino - Sienna’s in Mt Lawley.

A really simple and inexpensive option for an interesting lunch is to visit the Freo or Station street Subi Markets, grab some fresh (absolutely delish) produce and a picnic basket and head to someone’s house, kings park, the beach or any other venue of choice! This is always a fun option and ends up being a great afternoon with friends! BYO food and drinks - Cheap and cheerful!

For budget glamour head to your local woolworths supermarket for their instore Sushi Bars which offer ready made and fresh to order Sushi and Sashimi. Grab a crisp bottle of prosecco from Woolworths Liquor and head to your best friends balcony or a foreshore for a picnic style lunch!

We hope that some of these ideas have assisted with your quest to lunch on a budget! Happy Lunching!

Love - Taylor,  forladieswholunch xx
