Last week we visited the newly opened Belasyse, located in Shafto Lane, Perth City. It's menu gathers inspiration from French, Italian and Spanish cuisines.

To Summarise.....

Food: Is fab - some dishes just need slightly more flavour, we went the share option but recommend you try the mains as we talked to the staff afterwards and they said other patrons have raved about the gnocchi!

Drink: The cider went down very well, haven't tried Kirin cider before in Perth! Some great drink specials are avaliable also.

Service: Very friendly but a little slow - took some time for plates to be cleared, and a lot of effort to get their attention.

Atmosphere: Great, Shafto Lane is quaint, busy and interesting. Nice to watch all the delightful young men in suits walking by!

Per Head: $29

The Belasyse

The atmosphere had a very relaxed vibe and there was cool music playing. It also makes for great people watching as the city workers stoll past on their lunch break.

We kicked off our lunch with a pint of Kirin apple cider which was perfect for the hot afternoon. There are many other drink options on the menu, like the tempting Pimms & Sangria Jugs (which always go down well with us ladies!).

They also offer a range of different delicious sounding specials each day of the week that are all very reasonably priced.

Half the menu is tapas/share plates and the other half was main dishes, we chose a few tapas dishes to get us going!

This one was the soft shell crab with lime mayo. We agreed this was the best dish of the day and a few more serves wouldn't of gone astray!

Next up was the salmon croquettes. This wasn't a favourite amongst the ladies, we agreed that the flavours were a bit too bland and the texture was far too mushy for our liking.

We were feeling a bit naughty and added on some fries with delicious herb mayonnaise and tomato ketchup. Of course they were devoured - I mean, you can never go wrong with fries!

The spiced honey chicken brochettes were full flavoured and moist with a hint of spice.

The soft corn tortillas are very reasonably priced at $3.50 per taco. We tried the spiced honey chicken with guacamole, beef skirt with tomato and cheese, and the fish cabbage salad with spicy salsa and Baja sauce.  The chicken was great but the fish was lacking in flavour and the beef wasn't quite on the mark.

We decided to try the pulled pork, sage and apple pearls pizza. It's different to have apple on a pizza but it tasted amazing, especially with the pork. Definitely try this one, it was a winner.

Their take out spot is perfect for the busy office worker in need of a coffee and sandwhich on-the-go, apparently they do a "Damn fine cup of coffee" as well!

If you're craving something sweet, The Belasyse also offer a selection of raw treats, cakey sweets, home made ice creams, sorbets on a stick, as well as Churros and crepes. Yum!

Thank you for lunch The Belasyse!
