We decided to head down to Cottesloe beach and check out the new Cott and Co Fish bar, entrance is through the Cottesloe Pub.

Food: With a pub food menu, this place doesn't do too bad for itself

Drink: Very reasonably priced, Village prides itself on being affordable on the drinks front

Service: Great, staff were friendly and cheerful

Atmosphere: Relaxed, the front seating area is best.

Per Head: $42.50 (tasing plate to start, three mains, two bottles)

To Summarise.....

The Village Bar

Our lunch spot today was The Village Bar, located on Hay Street in Subiaco.

Village has become a well known spot for Football supporters to gather for a drink and some pub food before the game. It's also a great place for casual lunch and afterwork drinks.

On Wednesday nights the placed is packed with teenagers who are enjoying the happy hour, you used to find us there all the time! Now it's time to try the food ...

Village Bar offers a great range of deals for different nights of the week such as $15 steak night on Thursdays.

They also offer set menus at reasonble prices - check out the website for more details.

Friday afternoon calls for bubbly o-clock and what better way to wind down a busy week than sharing a bottle of Segura Viudas Brut Champagne with the ladies.

We are fans of the Village moto: "To deliever very drinkable drops at a reasonble price" - yes please!

Village specialises in craft beers, with a pint rarely priced over $10 and wines by the glass ranging from $7 to $9.50.

And with bubbles comes starters!

A fairly 'safe' tasting plate but yum none-the-less.

The Arancini balls would of benefitted from little more cheesyness - I tell you now, cheese is our lover at lunch!

The mushrooms were fab as was the fetta.

$34

Mains arrived and Taylor looked very happy about this!

Being an indecisive bunch, we chose three mains and shared the lot.

Roast pumpkin risotto with green peas, spinach and pecorino - $19.

This was a good pick, it was flavourful and creamy, but not too rich as risotto often is.

Pork sausage with cabbage and apple slaw, creamy mash and onion jus - $22.

This was our favourite dish, it hit the spot with its full flavours, we even asked for extra sauce it was so yum!

And the salad was a great counterbalance for all the richness.

You can't go wrong with bangers and mash!

Finally, the steak sandwhich - a bar food must.

The steak was a little on the tough side but the onion jam saved it, and the chips and aioli were great (like cheese, this is another thing we four can't live without...!).

$23.

Village bar is the perfect place for affordable drinks and is best visted in the late afternoon or evening, the food hits the spot too.

Another friday afternoon well spent among the girls!

Love - forladieswholunch xx
